The website of Ofer Azar

Prof. Ofer Azar received his Ph.D. in economics from Northwestern University. He is now a Full Professor at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where he serves as the Director of the MBA Program for Executives and holds the Nat Holman Chair in Sport Research.

Prof. Azar's main research areas include behavioral economics, experimental economics, decision making, sports, consumer behavior, economic psychology, competitive strategy, industrial organization and certain aspects of academic publishing (the review process and measuring academic impact). Some specific areas to which Prof. Azar has contributed include tipping and social norms more generally, the relative thinking bias of consumers, and decision making in basketball and soccer.

In a ranking of young economists, Prof. Azar was ranked 69th. In 2008 one of his articles was chosen by The New York Times as one of the important ideas of the year.
